Microbiology and Virology Bootcamp

Add to favourites

We are delighted to guide and teach you in the relevant clinical aspects of microbiology and virology. They are key to the practice of modern medicine and touch the lives of thousands of patients on a daily basis. Whilst we will aim to focus on microbiology and virology, we will also cover the basic aspects of mycology, parasitology, infection control and health protection necessary for your daily practice.

Our area of expertise requires a holistic approach from the patient’s perspective: age, co-morbidities, travel history, hobbies work exposures as well as a critical interface with basic science.

The Bootcamp will be predominantly based at St. John’s Hospital in Livingston, West Lothian. You will be attending lectures as well as laboratory sessions. There will be a session in the Lauriston building in Edinburgh’s city centre. Please note that there is a possibility that some of the lecturers or venues might change in the event of last minute cancellations, but we will aim our best to avoid this as much as possible.

You are invited to attend dinner on Thursday 22nd at 17:30, unfortunately the department is unable to fund this. Please fill in this form to indicate if you do or do not wish to attend dinner. RSVP 23rd August dinner
