Microbiology and Virology Bootcamp

Add to favourites

This 10-day bootcamp aims to guide and teach you in the relevant clinical aspects of microbiology and virology. They are key to the practice of modern medicine and touch the lives of thousands of patients on a daily basis. Whilst we will aim to focus on microbiology and virology, we will also cover the basic aspects of mycology, parasitology, infection control and health protection necessary for your daily practice.

The bootcamp will be predominantly based at St. John’s Hospital in Livingston, West Lothian. You will be attending lectures as well as laboratory sessions. There will be also a session on Teams as part of collaborations with colleagues from Europe (one of our collaborations – IDEAL) and a session in the Lauriston building in Edinburgh’s city centre. Please note that there is a possibility that some of the lecturers or venues might change in the event of last minute cancellations, but we will aim our best to avoid this as much as possible.

Delegates are invited to attend dinner with the delegates and faculty of the microbiology bootcamp on Monday 21st of August at 6:30 pm in Vittoria on the Bridge, 19 George IV Bridge EH1 1EN. The cost will be £25 per person and a deposit of £10 will be required in advance. More information and RSVP information for this will be available shortly.
