The session discussed Chief Scientist Office-funded research carried out by the team at the
University of Aberdeen into enhancing recruitment and retention of rural doctors in Scotland, as
well as a more recent study funded by the NIHR on community-led initiatives to improve
recruitment and retention in remote and rural areas.
The invitation list included colleagues and partners involved and working in remote and rural
contexts throughout Scotland, from a range of sectors including but not limited to NHS,
government, education, and general practice
