Overview of Rural Education Pathway, Capability Framework and Turas Professional Portfolio

Please see video below from Sylvia Hazlehurst, Senior Educator, NES providing an overview of the rural education pathway, capability framework and Turas professional portfolio.

Work-based learning

Work-based learning is an educational strategy that utilises trainee’s work-based experiences as learning opportunities. It recognises that a considerable amount of learning does take place in the workplace. Workplace based experiences are combined with other learning opportunities to create a learning contract where that learning and how it will be assessed is articulated. Academic credit is attached to these learning contracts to reflect the learning that has taken place. Work-based learning forms a large part of the Rural Advanced Practice Education Pathway.
