The Falkirk Digital Community Asset Map brings together information held locally regarding community groups / resources with the data held nationally on the ALISS (A Local Information System for Scotland) database. Some small local groups are reluctant for their details to be published nationally on ALISS. Creating a local database, using SharePoint Lists that replicate the structure of ALISS, resolves this problem. Power BI is used to connect the local data with data from ALISS itself via an API. From the perspective of the user, they are viewing one comprehensive set of information regarding community groups.
