The aim of my project was to improve communication within the facilities department across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Effective communication is vital to any organisation and no more so than during covid, when it was essential that all staff were given clear concise information. During the pandemic the sharing of essential communication with facilities staff was extremely challenging as they had little to no access to emails therefore not receiving the daily core briefs that were being communicated to all other staff within GGC. A work around was sought and implemented. Paper copies of the core brief were printed off and disturbed to the thousands of staff across GG&C. This was not cost effective or good use of manager time and did not meet the sustainability strategy and relied heavily on face to face communication.
