All nurses, midwives, assistant practitioners and support workers should have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSB) to participate effectively in clinical supervision. In this section of the learning site, you will find information and resources that will support you to develop your knowledge and skills around clinical supervision. 

Clinical supervision capability framework. NHS Scotland nursing and midwifery workforce

The clinical supervision capability framework is a supporting document for the Scottish model of clinical supervision outlined in both the nursing and midwifery national frameworks. Its purpose is to promote quality assurance and effective governance of supervisor preparation and practice.

The capability framework outlines the knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSB) expected of the nursing and midwifery workforce, including support workers and assistant practitioners, in relation to the clinical roles as described in the national clinical supervision frameworks.  It applies to all levels of the the career framework for health.

We are in the process of creating new learning resources to support your development as a clinical supervisee and clinical supervisor.
