An in-person event for trainer presentations.
Each member of the new trainer group will present to their peers.
The purpose of this task is to review your knowledge of planning educational activities and your understanding of your role as a Vocational Dental Trainer. Presenting in front of your peers will also offer the experience of delivering to a training room, and will build confidence in this area should be asked to support a VT study day. The START team will be available on the day to offer some helpful guidance and feedback that will help you to develop in the early days as a trainer.
This interactive session will require all trainers to engage in scenario based activities. The Advisers will support open discussion and facilitate peer learning to support the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills. The problem based learning techniques will allow new trainers to practice their decision making in the educational setting. Additionally these activities will focus on enhancing communication and adaptability, ensuring that new trainers can effectively mentor and support the diversity of VDPs in the general practice setting.
As part of the START course and becoming a trainer you are expected to deliver a 5 minute presentation to your peers. This was discussed with you at the end of Day 3.
The presentation should be based on a 1 hour tutorial or 2 hour study day session.

We request submission of your presentation no later than 24 hours before you attend.
Participants should send their PowerPoint file to the START email inbox.
