The Advisers will support open discussion and facilitate peer learning to support the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills. The problem based learning techniques will allow new trainers to practice their decision making in the educational setting. Additionally these activities will focus on enhancing communication and adaptability, ensuring that new trainers can effectively mentor and support the diversity of VDPs in the general practice setting.

Presentation Guidance
""

As part of the START course and becoming a trainer you are expected to deliver a 5 minute presentation to your peers. This was discussed with you at the end of Day 3.

The presentation should be based on a 1 hour tutorial or 2 hour study day session.

The presentation should not exceed 6 slides, please include:

  • Name and Tutorial Title
  • Aims, objectives and learning Outcomes
  • A lesson plan
  • Discussion on methodology
  • Brief overview of content
  • Reflection

We recommend that you deliver this presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Remember, using pictures and graphics can convey a lot of information visually.
  • Keep it simple, work from short bullet points as cluttered slides can lose impact.
  • You only have 5 minutes, do not present a tutorial. We only want the overview.
Submission of Presentation
""

We request submission of your presentation no later than 24 hours before you attend.

Participants should send their PowerPoint file to the START email inbox.
