Introductory learning resources for Trainee Dental Nurses
This page has been created to support Trainee Dental Nurses wishing to commence their learning journey whilst waiting to start the NHS Education for Scotland (NES) Modern Apprenticeship Programme. These units do not work towards the MA in Dental Nursing Programme; but will support the understanding and knowledge of the role of a Dental Nurse. These units are not compulsory.

Scottish Infection Prevention and Control Education Pathway (SIPCEP). eLearning provided by the HAI team, In particular the foundation layer, which comprises of education resources covering all 10 standard infection control precautions and other introductory infection prevention and control (IPC) topics.
This suite of Infection Prevention and Control modules created by NES aim to provide all members of the dental team with up-to-date advice and information relating to current national guidelines.

Open Badges is a way of gaining vocational qualifications within the Health and Social Care sectors in Scotland. The Reducing Inequalities team within NES have produced some Open Badges relating to Oral Health.
