Programme introduction/Aims and objectives
The aim of this workstream is to deliver a modern neurology patient pathway in order to improve access to care in a sustainable way. This is addressed by the following primary drivers:
- Improved communications (primary, secondary, patient) at referral
- Clear and consistent referral criteria
- Use of Active Clinical Referral Triage (ACRT) / Patient Initiated Review (PIR) to increase access and reduce burden
- Access to care and support once in the system
- Staffing, succession planning and skillmix
