NHS Education for Scotland (NES)

The resource was developed by NES and members of the Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) Advisory Group to support support workers in Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Profession roles to consider learning in its broadest form and identify the right learning experience for their needs. The resource helps support workers to use key questions to prompt thinking and aid good conversations about their learning, to develop and explore the four pillars of practice to identify learning opportunities in respect of their role and to consider how Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) can support future learning and development.
