The enhanced level includes the knowledge and skills needed by staff in health and social care, and other public services, who have regular and intense contact with people experiencing mental distress, mental ill health, or who may be at risk of self-harm or suicide. These staff are often in roles where they can provide direct support or interventions. At this level, the knowledge and skills needed become increasingly role and context specific.
