  • Remote & Rural Adanved Nurse Practitioner Report (2013) Rural Teams RNP Final Report. Mapping of advanced level nursing competencies to support the development of the Rural Nurse Practitioner role. The purpose of this report is to consider skill clusters and competencies that may be required by an advanced rural nurse practitioner working across community and hospital settings. It is anticipated that the report will act as a catalyst for both remote, rural and island boards and their education providers, to discuss, develop and deliver education and training that will be required to support and maintain these roles.
  • RRHEAL Rural Advanced Nurse Practitioner Education Needs Report (2017) As part of ongoing work to help develop accessible, affordable and sustainable education and training, the Remote and Rural Healthcare Educational Alliance (RRHEAL) sought to explore the specific education and training priorities for rural Advanced Nurse Practitioners (rural ANP). This was in the context of persistent enquiries from territorial NHS Boards seeking efficient routes to both develop and maintain the knowledge and skills of such staff. NHS Highland developed an inventory of education and clinical skills needs in the context of rural ANPs. With helpful permission, RRHEAL further developed this inventory into two skills matrices for: Core education needs of ANPs: Specific Paediatric education needs.
