Welcome to Guidance for Educators.

This site provides information on how to develop learning programmes for health and social care staff in Scotland.

It includes advice and guidance on the cycle of planning, developing, designing and reviewing an education programme or resource with links to further reading and useful information.

If you are new to developing learning programmes, it’s important to work through the cycle in order.

The information here is useful if you are developing face-to-face learning or e-learning materials. For guidance on e-learning resources, please also consult the NHS Education for Scotland Quality Standards for Digital Learning Resources.

New: Transferring face to face training online

Due to COVID-19 educators in NHS Education for Scotland are exploring options to transfer training online. To support this we have collated options for eLearning, collaborative spaces, webinars and some case studies. This package is continuously being updated but we thought it could be useful for others.
