Vaccine specific training resources for registered practitioners in respect of hexavalent DTaP/IPV/Hib/HepB combination vaccine.
18 April 2024 Update- Please be advised due to updates within Green book chapter https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/hepatitis-b-the-green-book-chapter-18 the resources have been reviewed.
Since 2017 all babies in Scotland have been eligible for a hexavalent vaccine which includes protection against hepatitis B (HepB) as part of the primary immunisation schedule. In 2022, the hexavalent vaccine Vaxelis®, in addition to Infanrix hexa®, will be available.
In order to further support the hexavalent DTaP/IPV/Hib/HepB combination vaccine programme. NHS Education for Scotland in partnership with Public Health Scotland has revised its resources for registered healthcare practitioners. These can be found below and include training slides (and accompanying notes) and an information document.
Please note: These educational resources continue to be updated as required to support this programme but do not replace the clinical judgement of practitioners. Practitioners should refer to the Public Health England Green Book Chapter when administering the vaccine
