Scottish Government

The theory of change underpinning this project is that improvement methodology/QI principles and techniques which have been applied successfully in Health can also be effective in the messier social policy context of Justice. By increasing the number of staff applying improvement methodology techniques to Justice issues and contexts, it is hoped that this will lead to increasingly effective policies, processes and change programmes and, ultimately, better public services. Aim: By September 2016, to increase the use of improvement science in SG Police and Fire Divisions to point where 40% of staff can demonstrate that they are applying improvement science principles and techniques in their work.
