NHS Education for Scotland (NES)

The Equality Act (2010) provides a legal framework requiring all public authorities to evidence service delivery is based on the principles of human rights. The Equality Impact. Assessment (EQIA) process has been introduced to support service providers to meaningfully engage stakeholders in the design of public services. The project aim was informed by challenges relating to the quality and consistency of EQIA outputs in addition to a lack of stakeholder involvement in terms of meeting legislative requirements. Aim: By August 2015, all Equality Impact Assessments undertaken will achieve a minimum of 90% quality assurance score.
