Independent Prescribing Simulation-Based Session 10

Prerequisites:

All absences will be recorded and may affect your future ability to book. I confirm I understand I must submit each IP Logbook session within 4 weeks of attendance otherwise the session will not count towards my placement.

Learning outcomes:
C-112297 Domain: Communication Employ targeted history-taking skills, recognise and prioritise the information gathered from patients presenting with conditions affecting the ocular adnexa, and corneal dystrophies. (S1.1) Demonstrate confidence in communicating appropriate management and treatment, including prescribing, where indicated, for conditions affecting the ocular adnexa, and corneal dystrophies. (S2.1) Domain: Clinical practice Analyse the significance of the signs and symptoms, investigate accordingly and diagnose patients with conditions affecting the ocular adnexa and, corneal dystrophies. (S7.1) Formulate an appropriate treatment plan using local and/or national guidelines to manage patients with conditions affecting the ocular adnexa, and cornea dystrophies. (S6.1) Domain: Specialty CPD - AS/SP/IP optometrist Demonstrate how IP Optometrists make and communicate prescribing decisions by selecting the most appropriate first line, second line, or tertiary treatments based on the clinical conditions and individual needs of the patient. (S7.6)
