The NHSSA (NHS Scotland Academy) Modified Microsuction Competency Framework provides a structured pathway for Registered Nurses to develop and demonstrate their knowledge and skills in necessary ear wax removal using microsuction in routine ears under the supervision of an AMT. It can also be used for refreshers and updates for those competent in microsuction or those wishing to self-assess existing skills gained from an alternative ear care training programme against BSA MTG (2020).
