IP Simulation based session 4 - Falkirk

If you cancel with less than 72h notice or do not attend a session you may be charged up to £150 for the session. All absences will be recorded and may affect your future ability to book.
I confirm I understand I must submit each IP Logbook session within 4 weeks of attendance otherwise the session will not count towards my placement.

Domain: Communication:
Refine ability in reassuring concerned patients presenting with physical and/or emotional discomfort caused by ectropion, anterior blepharitis (seborrhoeic), or trichiasis with corneal erosions, whilst maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, through simulated, actor-led clinical scenarios. (S1.2)
Demonstrate specialist skills in communicating clear and effective management plans, including informed consent where appropriate, to patients presenting with trichiasis, entropion and seborrhoeic dermatitis. (S1.7)

Enhance competence in efficiently diagnosing and managing patients with ectropion, anterior blepharitis (seborrhoeic) and trichiasis with corneal erosions, consulting local and national guidelines and protocols, through engagement in simulated, actor-led scenarios. (S5.3)
Demonstrate capacity to interpret signs and symptoms (distinguishing between acute flare-ups and chronic presentations) of ectropion, anterior blepharitis (seborrheic), trichiasis with corneal erosions, thus ensuring appropriate management. (S7.1)

Formulate and communicate management plans for chronic conditions impacting quality of life, taking into account patient preferences ensuring best interests of the patient. (S1.5)
