In this University of Glasgow and NES study protocol, co-led by Dr Julie Ferguson and Prof Paul Bowie, the research team outline the aim of this scoping review to identify and synthesise the theoretical frameworks that inform the design, implementation, and evaluation of Healthcare incident Reporting and Learning Systems in order to develop a comprehensive map of the theoretical underpinnings currently in use and to consider how these may shape future practice.
