MSF or Multi Source Feedback is an assessment tool where a VDP receives feedback from a variety of co-workers or team members who interact with them regularly.
This typically includes a Personal 360 module where the VDP evaluates their own performance, followed by input from their trainer, other dentists within the practice, nurses, and reception and managerial staff.
Since the feedback comes from a number of sources, it provides a more comprehensive picture of the VDPs performance, strengths and areas for improvement. It also stimulates reflection and self-awareness.
MSF is accessed through the Feedback app in TURAS.
MSF takes place after you have been working for six months and are familiar with your practice and your dental team. Typically, this is in January and the process is open for three weeks. Confirmed dates are available in the Assessment timetable.
Nearer the time, you will receive an email from the DAU informing you that your scheme MSF is now open, and this will also contain a link to the appropriate site.
Complete the Personal 360 section first, and then invite everyone you regularly work with to contribute. Individual responses are entirely confidential.
Full instructions and guidance will be issued at the time.
Once all responses have been collected a report is collated and released to your scheme adviser. They will arrange a time to discuss the report with you. The report and a record of the meeting should then be uploaded to your TURAS portfolio. In most cases, this completes the process.
