When applying for a job, it is helpful to understand the type of recruitment process an employer will use. In adult social care in Scotland, numerous employers are encouraged to adopt the principles of Values Based Recruitment (VBR) in their recruitment and onboarding process.

VBR

Values Based Recruitment (VBR) is designed to draw out your personal values, and help employers understand how these align with their organisational values.  VBR encompasses shared values, promotes a positive work environment, and improves staff performance. VBR helps employees to understand if the organisation is right for them, as well as helping employers gain the right person for the job.  VBR is used to recruit because employees that share the values of the organisation, they work for are likely to stay longer in that organisation.

Understanding what VBR is will help you to produce a better application, and will help you give your best possible interview.
