Some Key Principles and Ways of using the Framework

See below key principles for making the most of the resource:

  • individualised learning approach for self assessment and planning CPD
  • can be used as part of PDP conversation
  • can be used as a guide for personal and professional learning
  • no defined timeframe for completion
  • supports continuous learning and development
  • focuses on key capabilities to lead excellence in care
  • can be tailored to suit own role
  • reflective approach to professional learning
  • complement existing Board management and policy processes and resources
  • Complement local induction programmes and preceptorship

 

 

 

There are many ways to use the LEiC Education and Development Framework and the aligned capabilities. The PDF available by clicking on the graphic on the right gives a suggested process for using the education and development framework as a learning tool.

The example process involves the capabilites, self-assessment, action plan and using a portfolio to record your learning.
