The timeline for the refresh of the NMAHP Development Framework was October 2022 to March 2025.
The aim of the refresh was to:
This refresh has now been completed, and the framework was launched at the end of April 2025. There has also been a number of workshops to highlight the improvements made.

The User Forum was established in November 2022 to support the refresh of the framework.
The forum has been essential in providing stakeholder engagement, expert advice and guidance for the refresh.
The aim of the forum is to provide advice and subject matter expertise to refine, develop and support the ongoing maintenance of the development framework.
Main activities include:
• Providing advice and guidance on the user experience
• Influencing and shaping the development and ongoing maintenance of the framework
• Reviewing and providing regular feedback
• Developing and testing new content
• Input into the communication and engagement as well as the impact measurement strategies
• Championing the framework in practice.
Meetings of the group
• Meetings will normally be virtual via MS Teams
• Meeting frequency will be 3 monthly
• Communication will be via MS Teams dedicated channel
• An activity schedule will be provided to support planning for key activity periods
• NES team will provide meeting facilitation and business support.
Membership of the group
Membership is representative of the framework users and includes:
• Nursing
• Allied Health Professions
• Midwifery
• Healthcare Support Workers
• Education
• Professional Organisations like RCN
Membership of the forum will be for at least a year.
Support from your manager and capacity to undertake any associated work is important to consider.
