A range of training resources are provided for staff working with adults with anxiety problems. The resources have been developed for staff who would like to know more about a psychological approach for anxiety, or would like to develop their skills and deliver brief protocolised psychological interventions.
This e-learning module is designed for all staff working in the public sector with people who have anxiety problems. It aims to give the learner a fundamental understanding of anxiety, how it is expressed in the body and some basic psychological interventions which can help people manage their anxiety more effectively.
This e-learning module has been developed for multi-disciplinary staff working with people who have anxiety problems. It aims to provide the learner with knowledge of the CBT techniques that can be used to manage anxiety problems.
The Introduction to CBT for Anxiety (ICBT-A) learning programme has been developed for multisdiciplinary staff working with people who have signficant anxiety problems. The overall aim is to introduce staff to cognitive behavioural therapy and to develop their skills in delivering a brief psychological intervention to people with anxiety problems. Four versions of the training have been designed to meet the needs of staff working in different NHS settings. These are Adult Mental Health; Substance Misuse; Older People; and Forensic settings. The learning programme will focus on a cognitive behavioural assessment of anxiety presentations; collaborative goal setting in relation to anxiety; working with changes in the body; working with emotions; working with thoughts; and working with behaviours. On completion of the programme, staff will be able to select stategies that are effective in changing the maintaining cycles of anxiety.

Staff developing skills in providing brief protocolised psychological interventions will need to participate in clinical supervision. Before applying for the learning programme, please ensure that you have access to clinical supervion. Please contact your local Psychological Therapy Training Co-ordinator (PTTC) if you do not have a clinical supervisor.
