Work-As-Imagined (WAI) versus Work-As-Done (WAD)

Human Factors is the discipline concerned with understanding, evaluating and improving how human work is done.  A key aspect of this is in understanding how work is really done, rather than ‘imagining’ how we or others think it is done.  The concepts of WAI and WAD are important to explore as part of both TBQR and Safety Investigations.
