Like most countries, Scotland recognises the need to modernise and improve its approach to safety learning review activities. In this way we can:
• Improve the quality of safety reviews to better inform team, organisational and national learning.
• Enhance the quality and standardisation of existing education, training and on-going development arrangements to support safety review leads.
• Introduce more meaningful, compassionate and restorative engagement with patients, clients, families, carers and members of the workforce impacted by safety occurrences.
• Focus on existing and future capacity and capability to build relevant subject matter expertise amongst key members of the national care workforces.
