The University of Aberdeen offers a wide range of CPD options for staff and professionals. Traditionally not all existing provisions have been explored by explored by faculty involved in the delivery of the MBChB curriculum. These development options are not always advertised through the appropriate channels, and many times they fail to reach audience such as NHS clinical educators.
An acknowledged problem with CPD is the time cost involved with redundant activities such as navigating libraries of resources and finding training that maps to current requirements. The faculty development options offered or endorsed by the Centre for Healthcare Education Research and Innovation at the University of Aberdeen are mapped the General Medical Council (GMC) criteria for Recognition of Trainers (ROT).
This page contains details about the available types of faculty development provisions and how they are structured on TURAS. You will also get to know a bit about the team that's behind this faculty development project.
