People with Down’s Syndrome can lead active, healthy and meaningful lives into their 60, 70’s and beyond. However, they can be at increased risk of certain health conditions. This masterclass in partnership with Down’s Syndrome Scotland explores health conditions, risks, and needs of individuals with Down’s Syndrome, and how you can positively support their health, wellbeing and inclusion. The masterclass is expertly delivered by family support service officer, Varshali Swadi; Cher Collins, DS Scotland trainer who talks about her role, life experiences and opportunities as a young woman with Down’s Syndrome, and Ben Insch, who provides insight into her experience as a parent of a child who has Down’s Syndrome, and a perspective on what can make a difference to the lives and wellbeing of families. This is a recording of the original masterclass delivered in 2022 and is suitable for all health and social care staff.
