This section holds resources to support trainers and facilitators to deliver facilitated learning sessions locally.  The learning within the resources mirrors the learning available in all the previous sections

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

This resource supports people working in vaccination settings to develop learning on how communication skills in the context of their role, can be used to achieve positive shared experiences.

The resource supports delivery of a facilitated session that lasts approximately 3.5 hours.

The suite of resources includes everything required for delivery:

Learning outcomes -  By the end of this session participants will:

  • Describe the context of effective communication in relation to the concept of person-centred care
  • Describe the principles and use of active listening and responding skills
  • Describe the principles and use of de-escalation techniques
  • Have an action plan of how you will implement these skills in practice
  • Be aware of other useful sources of information

Practitioners involved in vaccination should discuss locally available opportunities with their supervisor / line manager.

Vaccinating Children and Young People Training Resources

Vaccinating those aged 5-11yrs

The aim of this resource is to help support healthcare practitioners with the knowledge to support safe and effective administration of Comirnaty® 10 micrograms/dose (COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine, Pfizer/BioNTech).

Please discuss your learning requirements with your line manager and ensure that you adhere your local educational and clinical governance policy and guidance, for example undertaking paediatric basic life support.

It is important to note that different COVID-19 vaccines may become available and that they will have different storage, dilution/reconstitution and administration requirements. You must be familiar with the specific recommendations for the COVID-19 vaccine you are delivering. 

You can find learning resources to support the development of vaccine specific knowledge in this section under the following headings:
