Using audits to support improved practice module

The aim of the module is to show you how to use audit findings to improve decontamination practice where you work. After completing this module, you willl be able to:

  • Identify areas for improvement following a reusable non-invasive patient care equipment audit
  • Identify the reasons why practices sometimes “go wrong” and why they “go right”
  • Take practical actions to improve practices where you work.

This module explores auditing using the “safe management of care equipment” as an example. You can apply the principles and practice to any audit in other areas.

This module is ideal for all staff in health and social care settings new to carrying out audits in the workplace. It is also suitable for more experienced staff who want to refresh their knowledge or update skills.

Duration: 30 minutes
