Faculty Development : becoming a simulation based educator

Add to favourites

This learning programme has been developed by Clinical Skills Managed Educational Network (CSMEN). This multi-professional learning programme aims to establish a standardised training in Simulation Based Education.

This programme will support practitioners in their studying, enabling them to work at their own pace, linking their own experiences to new learning in preparation to become Simulation Based Educators within their own field.

This programme has been structured into 3 Tiers:

  • Tier 1: Awareness of Simulation to Educators
  • Tier 2: Introductory programme for Simulation Based Learning Educator
  • Tier 3: Advanced programme for Simulation Based Learning Educator (in development)
Tier 1: Awareness of Simulation to Educators

This section has been structured into 7 modules:

  • Introduction to Simulation Based Education (30 minutes)
  • LO 1 Describe a range of appropriate learning activities that can use simulation (20 minutes)
  • LO 2 Recognise the spectrum of simulation modalities (20 minutes)
  • LO 3 Recognise the impact SB education can have on learner, team and system (20 minutes)
  • LO 4 Recognise SB education in context of curriculum outcomes (20 minutes)
  • LO 5 Demonstrate awareness of mapping so simulation can enhance curriculum delivery (20 minutes)
  • Further Information (20 minutes)

You can complete the modules in any order.
