In Practice Training - COVID19 Update

This training session on infection control and decontamination provides all members of the dental team with up-to-date advice and information relating to current national guidelines. It is delivered in-practice by our experienced team of Dental Tutors, all of whom are Dental Nurses.

Update on In-practice training sessions - COVID19 Update

At the moment due to the Covid-19 situation, our QIiPT team aren't currently able to provide face to face in-practice infection control training sessions as NES face to face training has still not resumed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are now able to offer a 2 hour 15 minute virtual In-Practice Training Session.

The training will count towards enhanced CPD hours for the whole dental team. Dentists attending the training will be eligible for CPD allowance.

No charges currently apply to these sessions for NHS dental practices. A charge of £200 will apply to wholly private dental practices.

Requirements of the virtual session are that all staff must be able to maintain a 2-metre distance whilst participating. We also require that at least one person is present in the practice to join the session from a mobile device which has a camera or video function to allow a member of staff to demonstrate the decontamination process to the Tutors. Other members of staff may join from any mobile device or TV hook up so long as staff remain physically distanced as per requirements.

If you are interested in booking this training, please complete this on-line Booking Request Form.

Our Business Support team will contact you to arrange a suitable date for your training once we receive your note of interest.

QIiPT are taking part in an exciting nationwide trial evaluating an important new training component on dental antibiotic prescribing. This trial is a collaboration between, NES Dental Clinical Effectiveness involving both the QIiPT team and TRiaDS (Translational Research in a Dental Setting) and the University of Aberdeen.

The standard content regarding Infection control and decontamination will not be affected and this will not add any additional time to the training session.

Further information will be provided if your practice is eligible to take part.

During lockdown, our team delivered a number of interactive webinars which covered Infection Control and Decontamination, with updated information (at that time) related to Covid-19. Sessions providing guidance for practice re-opening were also offered. Some videos to support practices with good practice after re-opening have been developed and are also available on TURAS.

Please note that:

All guidance is subject to change so all HCWs should check the HPS Covid-19, SDCEP and NHS Inform websites for most up to date information

We will keep note of your details and contact you as soon as we can when we have a clearer idea of how/when we will be moving forward with training (when circumstances permit). We are currently looking at alternative forms of delivery for training if face to face is not possible for some time.
