AHA Herlev is inspired by a project at fellow Copenhagen hospital, which has demonstrated that an increased attention on patients with ileus can improve survival. The focus included reduced time to surgery, optimizing the patient before surgery and focus on keeping the patients in the PACU or ICU area longer postoperatively. We want to make similar changes.The overall goal is to reduce mortality by 20% by Oct 31st2017 for adult patients admitted to Herlev Hospital with high risk abdominal conditions such as perforation of enteric system and ischemic of the intestine and therefore undergoing acute abdominal surgery
