New Quality Improvement Learner Pathways
NHS Education for Scotland is launching new quality improvement learner pathways in 2025/2026, designed to provide staff with the right knowledge and skills to support change and improvement in their organisation. Two pathways, Kickstart QI and QI Essentials, will launch on Turas Learn in April 2025. The QI Zone is in the process of being refreshed and updated to support easy access to these new learner pathways.
Having the right skills and knowledge to support change and improvement is key for staff across health and social care. Two new learner pathways, will launch in April, have been designed for staff across health and social care, and the wider Scottish public services, focussed on developing quality improvement knowledge and skills.
The two learner pathways to launch are Kickstart QI and QI Essentials:
Kickstart QI is for everyone. This pathway will provide an introduction to what quality improvement is. It is a single e-learning module that should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
QI Essentials is for anyone who is involved in change and improvement activity. QI Essentials will provide knowledge of core quality improvement methods and tools. This pathway is a set of 4 e-learning modules, with each module expected to take 30 minutes to complete.
Look out for a further two learner pathways, Practical QI and Managing QI that will be launched in August 2025. More information about these two pathways will be available in the lead up to their launch date.
