Older people living in Care Homes are 3 times more likely than their community dwelling peers to fall and 10 times more likely to sustain a serious injury as a result 1. The multifactorial nature of falls dictates the need for a person centred process to identify, manage and monitor falls risks which in turn promotes a quality of care which encourages an active independent life rich in purpose, personal fulfilment and a feeling of safety 2. Aim: To reduce the number of falls at the Cowdray Club Care Home Aberdeen; by 20% by 30th April 2016.
