Babysounds is an improvement project in South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership which uses music, rhythm and sound to promote early bonding and attachment between parent and child starting in the ante natal period and continuing beyond birth. The project is aimed at targeted ante natal women and their partners who access additional NHS Lanarkshire Services such as the First Steps Programme, Lanarkshire Additional Midwifery Services. Babysounds will be tested as a tool with First Steps workers to embed aspects of the Babysounds approach into their day to day practice. Aim: By June 2016 there will be a 60% improvement in the understanding of targeted First Steps Workers clients of the importance of communicating with their unborn child.
